WELCOME BACK ELFY

11.30.2014

The girls woke up to a surprise visit.  I heard them open their door so I hurried over to see their reaction.  Adisyn needed to go to the bathroom but thought she couldn’t get out of her room.  I had to convince her it was okay to crawl underneath and see who did this!

They were both so happy to see him.  Later he enjoyed our ritual of Welcome Back Elfy!

We love our traditions.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

The holidays for me, like many others, are a time to reflect on what we’re thankful for.  Our festivities began with Shawn’s family.  We made a candied pecan sweet potato casserole to take.  Definitely will be staple for our holiday grub.  Delicious!

I have a big obsession lately with chalk art.  Shawn went hunting so this was fitting. Moving on…

We enjoyed time together in the rather warm weather.

Every year Shawn’s Dad cooks the turkey in the weber.  It never disappoints.

Then it was on to our next destination… My family.

My parents love fried turkey.  This year was no different.  There is no doubt we gobbled til’ we wobbled! We spent the evening outside drinking concoction my Mom put together while the kids played Wii inside.  It was a perfect day!

The Friday after Thanksgiving we always plan to decorate and cook up a turkey of our own for leftovers while listening to Christmas music.

HUNTER HUBBY

11.02.2014

Shawn has been hunting several times with no success.  This season he got drawn for buck.  They hiked miles and miles through hail and sunshine.  Finally closing day he finally got his very first shot.  I am so happy for him.

Shawn brought along his late Uncle Rods gun hoping it would bring him good luck.  It worked!

These are pictures he sent me…

Now I need to find some recipes.  Congrats my love.

TOOTH-LESS

Ava’s tooth was loose for a few months.  We slowly worked on it. Finally the other night I was flossing her teeth and it was just barely hanging on so Shawn grabbed a paper towel for a better grip and out it came.  She didn’t even realize at first it was gone.  Its officially official.  They’re not babies anymore.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

11.01.2014

Loved that Halloween fell on a Friday this year!  Shawn was leaving for his second weekend away hunting at 3am so we decided to hang out in our neighborhood.  We are lucky to have such wonderful neighbors and young families around us.  We had a great night full of lots of candy, fresh popped popcorn and snow cones.  It was a great night!

The girls  helped with decorations.  They had a busy week at school working on a ton of Halloween projects.  This was my favorite.

IMG_1250

The girls’ best friend gave them glow sticks with bats and skeleton.  Adisyn did not like how bright the flash was.  LOL

IMG_1252

They were shy at first.  By the end of the night told everyone Happy Halloween or Trick or Treat.

When the girls were two years old we did Easter egg hunt.  Sweet Ava instead of putting the eggs in her basket to find more eggs she chose to eat whatever she could…. some things never change.

The end of the night what does every kid want to do?  Dump out all their candy.  {this is only 1/2}

The girls put together a haunted house.
