MONTH THREE

1.05.2016

My baby is 3 months old!

She is such a good baby and I can't believe how much she changes everyday!  I'm so lucky to be able to spend this time with her.  She really only cries when she's hungry, over tired, or taking a bath.

She still has a great appetite eating at least 4oz but sometimes 6-7oz about every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-6 at night.  She is starting to get tiny rolls and dimples on her thighs and its the cutest ever. According to my at home calculations she weighs 10.4 lbs.

She still wakes up about every 3-4 hours to eat after putting her to bed about 8pm.  The longest span was 6 1/2 hours.  Great night sleep!  She's been getting better about not falling asleep during feedings which has sped up the process.  Putting her back to sleep is very simple for us.  Rarely we have to hold her and comfort her until she begins to get sleepy but not quite asleep.  Most nights she does a great job at falling asleep on her own.  I finally invested in a halo sleeper because she has grown out of the swaddle blanket we'd been using.  It's worked fine.

She often flings her arms and legs around and frequently hits herself in the face. She makes a look like what the heck right after. Too funny!

This girl has some sass just like her sisters and me.  She makes a lot of facial expressions and almost always scrunches her eyebrows.  She is now smiling all the time and it totally melts my heart! Sometimes she does this cute thing where she will open her mouth big and then smile with her eyebrows and nose scrunched.  UGH I die!  It's the best!

Towards the end of her 2 month she caught her first cold.  Boo hoo!  She's a tough girl and has been doing great with a little extra TLC (more for my needs not hers) and a humidifier at night.

She's acquired a couple of nicknames; chunky monkey and cutie patootie.

Whenever she is crying and we can't get to her right that second Adisyn will sing a song she made for her.  The lyrics are I love you Reece, Reece, Reece over and over in the sweetest soft singing voice I've ever heard.

Ava and Adisyn are obsessed with her to say the least.  They can not get enough of her. These pictures make my heart go pitter patter.  They love feeding her and ask if they can all the time.

Reece also made her TV debut with this picture.

We tried out her booster seat.  Not quite ready for that. Look at that belly.

One thing that is for sure we always make sure we get lots of cuddles.  She is so spoiled compared to the twins.  That's okay, she's my last.

And because the bear she got from Santa is too adorable not to pose with.

Month one. Month two. Month three.

This collage makes me want to cry.  Even though she is still tiny compared to most babies her age, she is growing so fast.

NYE

We headed up to Show Low the day after Christmas to spend the week and welcome the new year.  Shawn's family has been for the past few years but I was never able to get the time off work.  This year we didn't have to worry about that so we made it up for some much needed R&R.

We snuggled a lot.

The girls made a sign entering the garage.  Apparently only kids were allowed, unless of course you needed a new beer. (the fridge that kept the beer cold is in the garage).  They are too funny!

Tuesday we enjoyed some snow flurries.  It didn't snow much and didn't stick but we made the best of it and found lots of snow patches throughout the property.

On New Years Eve we all traveled to the entrance of Sunrise for some sledding fun.

We all has so much fun! The girls kept saying they didn't like it but insisted on going again and again.  They also braved the big hill with Daddy and Papa, twice.

Here's a video compilation:

Afterwards we headed to Moose Henri's for lunch.

Shawn was the only one to not make it to the midnight hour, even Reece was awake.  I didn't have my New Years kiss from Shawn but I did from my three daughters so I was happy!  Reece sported a New Years onesie that said I'll be the queen of 2016.  She's so dang cute!

We also snuck away from the house for a day date and met up with Jessica and Nate to enjoy some appetizers and drinks at Pinetop Brewery.

We had the best time and I am so thankful for their friendship.

Once we came back we did some exploring with the older kids. They even fed us snow.

It was such a great week and the perfect way to welcome a new year.  When we made it back home I missed being there already and can't wait to go back.  So many great memories.

HOLLY JOLLY CHRISTMAS

Christmas is always such a special time of the year and this year was even more special because we got to share it with Reece as a family of 5.

Greetings from our family:

I was so excited and lucky to be able to spend the girls' winter break with them this year!  We started our celebrations by decorating cookies.  This is a tradition we've had the for the past few years that I hope will continue for a long time as we all love it.

Then it was time for one of the best days of the yer at my in laws annual Christmas Eve party.  This years theme was lumberjack.  We all sported our plaid attire.

A few games were played and even Santa made an appearance.  Reece got a first Christmas ornament and Ava and Adisyn got a doll.  This was the first year they were aware of who this Santa really was or at least they actually said something.  We enjoyed family and catching up together.  It was a great time had by all.  Reece got lots of loving.

We got home later than I wanted but Santa was still able to come for a visit.

Then it was Christmas morning.  I normally like to get video of the girls' reaction but this year it didn't go as planned.  I woke up to Shawn saying "I think the girls are awake! I think they're downstairs!"  We headed downstairs to find them separating gifts.  Fortunately they didn't open any.  Santa brought Reece  stuffed bear and a few other small toys and the older girls received a DVD player with new headphones, books, and other small gifts they wrote on their list to Santa.

Reece was happy and seemed to like her bear.

The girls were so excited with what they got.  It made for a fun morning.

Mom and Dad got them mermaid blankets I knew they would love.

Then it was off to my parents house, Stacy and Dylans for dinner and then ended at Nana and Papa's for even more gifts.  Reece came down with her first cold, sad!  Neither Shawn or I slept well and I got the cold she had so it made for an extra long day.  Even so Christmas isn't Christmas if we can't spend it with the ones that mean the most to us.
